Getting the best from an AeroPress
Grind and ratio
A medium-fine grind and a 1:14 ratio — around 15g of coffee to 220ml of water — make a clean, balanced cup. The AeroPress is forgiving, so small changes won’t ruin it; adjust to taste.
Cooler water, shorter brew
AeroPress works well with slightly cooler water, around 85–90°C, and a short brew of about two minutes. This keeps the cup sweet and smooth rather than sharp — especially good for lighter, fruit-forward coffees.
Standard or inverted
The standard method (press over the mug) is simplest and works beautifully. The inverted method gives a touch more control over steep time; both are fine, so start standard.
Which coffees to choose
Sweet, balanced, fruit-forward coffees are perfect here — Banana Fermented, Coorg Highlands, Mathavara Estate, and Rose & Lavender all brew clean and expressive in an AeroPress.

A medium-fine grind works well for the standard method. Go finer for a stronger, espresso-style cup.
Around 1:14 — about 15g of coffee to 220ml of water. Use less water for a stronger, concentrated cup.
Slightly cooler than other methods — around 85–90°C — keeps the cup sweet and smooth.
Both work. Standard is simplest; inverted gives more control over steep time. Start with standard.
You can make a strong, concentrated cup — not true espresso, but rich and great with milk. Use a finer grind and less water.
Yes — it’s light, compact, and near-unbreakable, which makes it ideal for travel and the office.
Whole bean if you can grind. Otherwise choose a medium-fine grind at checkout.
